You Want a Book Review? AS YOU WISH! (Mary)

Guess what! I am in the middle of my second week of school!!

For those of you who are out of the loop, I am going to UVU to finish up my bachelors degree in English- Creative Writing. I have also managed to fit getting my certification in Editing and Document Design (whatever that is) while I’m at it. I’m doing this thing six credits at a time though- so only like 3 more years until I’m legit! Hey. Slow and steady wins the race right? haha

Anywho. I hope you all had a great Christmas!! I hope 2018 is treating you well so far.

I was nervous I would never have time to read after I started school, so I squished quite a few books in the last month of last year. This was one of my favorites.

As You Wish

As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales From the Making of The Princess Bride by Cary Elwes

5/5 stars! (I just bought my mom a copy for her birthday next week!)

If you love The Princess Bride, this is an absolute must read!

My Academic Writing Instructor would tell me that a book review would require a basic summary peppered with some good quotations about now.

However, I am writing this for fun- and I don’t think very many people read all the way through anything on the internet anymore. Ain’t nobody got time for that!

So- for you- I will just say that this book is hilarious, touching, and it will make you want to watch the movie again. You’ll have a whole new appreciation for the gem of a film it is.

Also, I recommend the audiobook if you can get it from OverDrive or from the library. Cary Elwes narrates, and most of the original actors are featured. I think this would have made a better documentary than a book, and listening to it kind of gets that feel across. I’ve read a few reviews saying that the quotes were kind of confusing and random in book form. So, take that for what it’s worth. I’m sure it’s still fantastic.

Happy Reading! As always, let me know if you have any great book recommendations! It turns out that I am so addicted to reading, reading fiction is still my favorite thing to do after a long hard day of ….. reading…
